I just received my copy in the mail courtesy of Coops and once again, it’s a banger. The cover alone is a dead give away.
I was pleased to be able to contribute to this edition with an interview featuring Josh Fountain (Dalby) and a submission for the regular photo article that Cooper publishes each issue. The theme for the photo article this issue was coloured flashes, so without giving too much away online, you should try and grab a copy because there’s some amazing photos in there from the other photographers. My submission featured Lee Van Bruinessen (Toowoomba) riding Shaun’s backyard ramps. Thanks to Josh & Lee for your patience throughout these projects, and a big thanks to Coops for another fine job!
Josh, his brother Jared and myself were up early and went for a drive down to Brisbane to hit up the Coorparoo & Fairfield skateparks. Josh (pictured below) 180′d off the big ledge at Coorparoo and wrecked himself when he threw in a turndown on the second run. We then met up with a heap of others and ventured out bush to some private trails. I was fighting a losing battle with my weak flashes against the midday sun, so it was quite frustrating. The number of snaps was very limited because we had to head back reasonably early and conditions weren’t that great for the time we were there. Excuses, excuses… Anyway, here’s what I got. Big thanks to the guys for having us at their trails!
Went around to Shaun’s and took the camera with me to get some shots with Lee. He dug out the lounges, got some guests around and flipped Shaun’s ramp for the first time. Here’s some snaps from the session.
So on Friday night the LUXBMX Store launch party went down!
Mitch and Evan had the beers flowing and shit got wild.
My memories of the night are few but i’m slowly piecing it together as the days go on!
The store is definitely an eye opener and has a nice boutique feel about it.
Im really stoked on the store, its exactly what Brissy needed!
I arrived at the skatepark and was sitting around for a while before I noticed the awesome sunset in the background. I tee’d it up with Brett and by the time I was set up, the sunset had gone. But when I processed the photo on my computer, I still managed to get a bit of colour out of it. Bonus!
